2014 SUP World Tour Event #1 - Turtle Bay

March 2014, I was on a plane to Oahu to test my newly acquired SUP skills on the notorious Hawaiian waves on the North shore. I won the repocharge,  even after a devastating blow to the face attained trying to make it over a gigantic outer reef set. My bottom lip was no longer attached to my gum, I was spitting out blood everywhere. The rescue guys on the jet ski kept trying to take my leash & paddle to make me exit the water, but I was determined to win. Despite the flesh wound I received third in the final!

To be in the birth place of surfing at the opening event of Waterman League's Stand Up World Tour (SUWT) and my first professional SUP Surfing event was an exciting way to come onto the Stand Up Paddle surfing scene.
